Computer Internals - Galileo

A major part of my life and general interests revolves around computers. In July 2005 I built my first desktop PC, which survived intact for over two years.

During the summer of 2008 I embarked on a completely new build, one which I have affectionately labelled “Galileo“, a name taken from the musical We Will Rock You.

After building Galileo, I decided to take the plunge into the realm of water-cooling and overclocking. Details are on the Galileo sub-page above.

I have also built a server – christened “Atlantis” – which runs VMware’s free ESXi hypervisor, and contains my own network of machines, including DNS and DHCP servers, routers and backup file and web servers. Atlantis has also been watercooled as it was to fit into a Micro-ATX “cube” style chassis, so cooling capability would be fairly limited.

Photos of the builds as well as various other computer-related photos are on my Gallery.
